Our official San Jose Police Emerald Society tartan is officially registered and recognized by The Scottish Register of Tartans.

All members of the San Jose Police Emerald Society, their friends and families are encouraged to wear this tartan. The use of this tartan is limited to members in good standing of the San Jose Police Emerald Society or with special written permission.

About our tartan:

• The blue represents the blue blood running through the veins of all police officers

• The black lines represent the sorrow bands worn on officers badges during times of mourning

• The silver lines represent the line officers doing the toughest job on the mean streets and the first ones to be put into harm’s way

• The green represents the Irish heritage of the Emerald Society
